I wanted to let you know that the online store for The Eclectic Soul is temporarily closed. My plan is to open it back up on or before Sunday, 01 October. Of course, there will be some kind of re-opening special to help you get a jump on holiday shopping!
I've closed it, for now, to help me get it ready for the holidays. I need to update inventory, get new products listed, and take care of a host of other small tasks, too. I'm also in the process of redoing the entire site to make your browsing and shopping experience easier and more pleasant. In the meantime, I'll be blogging more often to keep you up-to-date with my progress.
I recently returned home from a soaping conference and a few days vacation. I had so much fun and I came home enthused and ready to get to work. That's a good thing because there is a lot to do to get ready for the fall and winter fair seasons! I'm in the process of planning my making schedule so that all the soap gets made in a timely fashion. It takes anywhere from four to eight weeks (actually, sometimes longer depending on the ingredients) for handmade soap to be ready for packaging. Once show season starts in October, I won't have time to make new soap and then get it ready for you in time for the holidays.
Right now it looks as though I'll have three fairs in October and two in December. I've also got space on my calendar for a couple of SoulGatherings in November. SoulGatherings are private, in-home parties where we talk about self-care and actually try some products. Unlike many of these kinds of parties, you don't have to wait a couple of weeks for your order; you and your guests actually get to take your goodies home with you that night! That makes these parties perfect for holiday shopping! If you're near Redlands, Whittier, or Torrance, let me know if you're interested in hosting a party for your friends.
